On Saturday, July 3rd, Merrimack Concert Association presents its annual Independence Day Eve Concert, at 7 p.m. on the bandstand in Abbie Griffin Park. As a salute to this cherished American holiday, Merrimack Concert Band is proud to welcome and share the stage with the 94th Army Band from East Windsor, CT.
Kicking-off Merrimack’s Fourth of July celebration, this old-fashioned entertainment features a wide range of popular tunes and pays tribute to our armed forces with a rousing performance of favorite marches and patriotic selections under the direction of Lelia Dutton.
As part of Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Concert Series, this performance draws hundreds of Merrimack residents as well as those from surrounding towns. Admission is FREE.
Besides offering an evening of great music under the stars, those famous root beer floats will be available again this year. During the evening a 50/50 raffle will be held and MCA 20th anniversary cookbooks will be for sale.
Bring a picnic, favorite chair or blanket, and family, neighbors, and friends to this traditional holiday performance. Funding for this concert comes from the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation. In case of rain, the performance will be at Merrimack High School. For more information, call Executive Director Laurie Ludvigsen at 424-0558, email info@merrimackconcert.org.
